Bahama Bob’s was born out of
necessity to satisfy my customers requests for more of my 100% Cotton,
Quality, American Made, Biker Design Tropical Apparel. Take a trip
with me to the beginning of Bahama Bob’s and how it all got started.
For the past 20 years I have been known as Crazy Bob’s Biker Apparel.
My main business has been vending at Biker Rallies. Perhaps you
purchased Daytona Bike Week T’s from my 2 locations on Main Street in
Daytona Beach from 1991 to 1999. Or you might have seen me in Myrtle
Beach, the Harley Blowout in Gulfport, MS, the Republic of Texas Rally
in Austin, TX, the Little Sturgis Kentucky Rally, the Freedom Rally in
Algona, IA, the Junebug Boogie in Cookeville, TN or the Trail of Tears
in Waterloo, AL, just to name a few. I specialize in event T-shirts,
pins, patches, embroidered hats, ladies apparel, beer huggies - any
type of event souvenir you would want at a rally.
Now - here is where all the tropical stuff comes in! While my wife,
Rheva, and I were on vacation in January 2006 in Hawaii, I began
purchasing Hawaiian shirts with motorcycle designs for myself, to wear
while in Hawaii - you know, get in the spirit of being in paradise!
Anyway, I started wearing these shirts and my gosh, they were so-o-o
comfortable - cool, easy to wear, exquisitely made, fabulous designs.
I had to search for more of these wonderful shirts! Everywhere my wife
and I went, I looked for these shirts. I ended up buying 9 of them
while in Hawaii, in different colors and unique motorcycle designs.
Now, I was thinking, maybe my customers at the biker rallies would
like these shirts too! Upon returning home to Tennessee, it took me 3
months to locate the manufacturer who made these fabulous shirts in
Hawaii. We started a great business relationship from that point. The
first rally that I offered these shirts for sale was at the Harley
Blowout in Gulfport, MS in May of 2006. The shirts were such a huge
hit there that I figured I’d better stock up pretty heavy for the rest
of the rallies in 2006. It’s a good thing I did. At nearly every
rally, I’d almost sell out. You see, I was offering something very
unique at the rallies. Sure, folks will always want their rally T’s
and souvenirs. But I was hearing that so many of my customers were
looking for something that was biker oriented, but a little dressier
than a T-shirt, and these shirts just fit the bill. Well, as it turned
out, they also wanted to dress their kids and grandkids in these
tropical clothes to match dad and granddad, so we introduced the
little boys short and shirt sets. What a smashing success that was!
And then we introduced the ladies dresses in the same fabrics as the
men’s shirts. This year we introduced the Baby Girl outfits, with the
pantaloons and sundress, in the matching motorcycle fabric. I can’t
begin to tell you how all of this has taken off! Now the whole family
can dress alike!

Anyway, it seemed that at each rally we attended this year, as my
customers were purchasing their new tropical apparel, I was asked the
same question over and over again - “Can I buy more of these shirts on
your website?” My website? Heck, I didn’t have a website! But after so
many people were inquiring about it, I figured I’d better get with it
and develop one! It was at the Republic of Texas Rally in Austin, TX
that I came up with the theme for the website, and it was my wife who
came up with BAHAMA BOB’s - to give a tropical feel to what I was
selling on the net. At 62 years of age, I was re-inventing myself and
my business! I found a great website designer, Rod Martin, right in my
town of Crossville, TN. Rod is a Vietnam Veteran and a former Marine
and has designed some of the most awesome websites. I feel very
privileged to have him working with me on this website and am so
pleased with his expertise. But there is one very important factor in
being a success on the internet, and that is SATISFIED CUSTOMERS! If
you have purchased anything from me at the rallies over the years, you know that I only sell quality merchandise at a fair price.
And if there is ever a problem, you come to me and it’s taken care of
- right there, no questions asked! Happy, satisfied customers has been
my goal for over 20 years in the retail business.
I am looking forward to serving you in the best way possible. Hey,
don’t forget to tell your friends about BAHAMA BOB’s. Thanks and may
God bless you and your family - BOB
